In a newsletter from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.upaya.org\/dharmatalks\/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwpf2IBhDkARIsAGVo0D29hzDhaj4toqtrYcd_S0GFBHsAJCsFcuqW0WgMNKA26AWyiZ7qNnMaAmiUEALw_wcB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Upaya Institute and Zen Center<\/a>&nbsp;on Tuesday,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tricycle.org\/podcast\/double-edged-empathy\/\">Roshi Joan Halifax<\/a>&nbsp;wrote, \u201cToday, as we connect to the suffering of the people in Afghanistan, we are asked to examine our views and actions regarding the role of war and violence in our society and in our lives.
